If you think that Govindo “Gov” Lloyd, the hunky referee of Eat, Bulaga!’s new game Jackpot En Poy, is nothing but a Body Beautiful, think again…and again!
You will find out more about Gov in a while — yes, the real Gov and what is between his pretty ears, and more!
Did you know that before Eat, Bulaga! Gov was (still is!) a fitness and lifestyle coach/personal trainer?
Asked how he got into Bulaga, Gov smiled, “Through my agent and a bit of luck.”
The job, lasting no longer than 15 minutes on screen, may look so simple — you know, easy does it! — but it actually requires not just a sound body but also a sound mind.
“And,” added Gov, “a certain level of seriousness and assertiveness, as well as stage presence and confidence.”
A bit of showbiz experience helps. When Gov acquitted himself as the boyfriend of Madame Kilay in an episode of Magpakailanman two Saturdays ago, a lot of people sat up and wondered, “Does he really know how to act?”
Well, he does.
“Besides plenty of modeling in the past,” said Gov. “I did some extra roles in Hollywood movies.”
Asked if he planned to pursue an acting career, Gov said, “Yes, just going with the flow.”
Describing himself as “50 percent Australian/50 percent Filipino” (his mom is from Tagbilaran City, Bohol), Gov has three siblings (one of them is adopted).
“I’ve lived most of my life in Gold Coast, Australia,” he shared. “I finished high school in Baguio. I finished courses in Tourism & Travel & Hospitality.” He has made the Philippines his permanent home since three years ago.
A Sagittarius (born on Dec. 13 “sometime in the early ‘80s”), Gov stands six-feet flat; weighs 190 lbs.; and wears medium-sized briefs, large-sized shirts and size-10.5 shoes.
